Transportation

During Tahkofest, a nonstop transportation service is provided for students. The bus operates within the Tahko area, and you can board for free by showing your Tahkofest wristband! This year, the nonstop service will be provided with two buses.

Additionally, there is a free ski bus operating in Tahko, and you can find its schedule here.

With the Joensuu Friday transport, you can travel from Joensuu to Tahko on Friday and return from Tahko to Joensuu on Sunday. The bus (Petteri Bussi) departs from Joensuu Bus Station at 12:00 noon. In Tahko, you can get off at any of the Sääskiniementie P-bus stops or in the yard of Sokos Hotel Tahko. Optionally, there is a chance to stop for shopping at S-Market Nilsiä on the way to Tahko.

The return bus departs from Tahko at 12:00 noon, and you can board the return trip at any of the Sääskiniementie E-bus stops or in the yard of Sokos Hotel Tahko.

The round-trip fare is €29.00 per person, and you can purchase your ticket from the Kide.app starting from November 3, 2025. The transports are carried out in cooperation with Savonia University of Applied Sciences.

The transportation between Kuopio and Tahko is operated by bus number 61 of the Kuopio region public transportation. Please note that this is a local bus and it can accommodate around 50 people.
